June 28, 2021 - Endure forever!

Image
We had our departure conference for the  Guthries last week and we will be getting our new Mission President this  week. I'm going to miss them so much- they are an incredible family. One thing that President Guthrie talked about was enduring and that we shouldn't look at things like they have an end. We need to just endure and continue to endure into our eternity.  This amazing family came to church yesterday with their little girl. They just felt that they should come and wanted their girl to grow up around good people who believe in God. Their neighbors had invited them to a church activity a couple months ago but they didnt go. But for some reason they decided to go to church and I'm so glad they did! Terry is doing good! We made her baptism invitation yesterday!! So excited! Last night we were all looking through our pictures and then Hermana Lingens eyes got really big and I could tell she was looking past me so I look behind me and there is a HUGE cockroach ...

We got our baby this week!!! Her name is Hna Lingen and it has been a blast so far! It was funny, when we were driving back home we didnt tell her that we lived on an island and as soon as we were crossing over the bridge she freaked out and was so excited 😂 We were super busy this week! And we got to go on the ferry to visit a member and it was so cool!! We met this Hispanic family while we were in the ferry. I asked them if they could take our picture and the lady was like "no understand" so then I said it in spanish and she got so excited!! It was funny. There was this other couple that we had talked to as well and suddenly everyone wanted to take a selfie with us. Good times. And we saw some dolphins too 😁 And the best news ever: TERRY IS COMPLETELY DONE WITH SMOKING! God is so good!! And we also met with our friend Tiffany yesterday and had an awesome lesson about the Book of Mormon and how it could help her with the things shes going through.  We're going to mee...

June 14, 2021 - We're having a baby!

Alright, transfer news------> HNA GRIMES AND I ARE GOING TO TRAIN!!!!! WE ARE SO EXCITED! We are picking her up tomorrow!  But last week was good! We were busy! And I got to go on exchanges with Sis Geertsen who is an absolute angel. We got to talk to a lot of people. There was this one guy we named Ali that we were talking with and he said he was a missionary too so we were just talkin about Jesus and then at the end he goes, "and I also sell life insure so tell your friends about me" and gave us a business card. It was hilarious. Hna Grimes and I picked some more green beans and a TON of peppers. I wish I liked them but sadly I don't. So I just admire them for their looks. And there are 2 new baby goats at the gardens and they are SO CUTE!!! We also helped Sister White paint her new house. And we will be helping someone else move into their new house too. All good stuff 🙃 We also fed some seagulls off our balcony so that was exciting. They love almonds and popcorn...

June 7, 2021 - ONE YEAR WAHOOOOOO

Image
Well ladies and gentlemen, ya girl now has less than 6 months left in her mission. AHHHH. So crazy! Well last pday, we went to Galveston State park. The tide was in so all the trails were flooded. That didn't stop us. The crabs almost did though... it was a good time.  On Tuesday we helped with the Christina Sullivan Foundation. They have a tennis camp for people with special needs so we got to teach them about health stuff and help them play tennis (I've never played tennis in my life 😅). It was so fun!! We also got to pick some more green beans at the gardens- I swear those are the fastest growing plants in the world. I hit my year mark on Wednesday so we went and got some SUSHI- so delicious. It has been pretty hot here in Galveston but I love it. We got to teach this lady that we found last week. She's hispanic and is interested in the plan of salvation. It was really cool. We have another lesson with her this week. We visited a ton of people and were busy as usual. ...
