July 27, 2020 - Gold Teeth

Image
Last week went by SO fast. I think the most exciting thing that happened was when we went to a members house and helped her clean up a bit because she is going to move. Let's just say, she had an unholy amount of stuff. And she needs all the help she can get to help her clean. During this experience, I was going through a basket full of stuff and asking her what she wanted to keep and what she wanted thrown away. I handed her a bowl with some random things in it to look through and she said, "oh there should be two of my gold teeth in there, I was gonna sell them!". So I proceeded with caution and (thankfully) found neither of her gold teeth.  We volunteered at the gardens again and weeded. It's super nice to get outside. I am still amazed by how many lizards and ants there are here, it's a little excessive.  Hermana Crandall and I also made a picture of Christ out of ripped up pieces of paper and made a time lapse video of it for Facebook (we're always ma...

Well I have officially been out for a week now! I actually really love Houston. The humidity isn't too bad and it's nice and green here (and there are trees EVERYWHERE and I love it (and I swear all the lizards in the world have all swarmed to this area)). On Wednesdays and Thursdays we get to volunteer at two different gardens in Hermann park. My companion, Hermana Crandall, has amazing Spanish so I am learning a lot from her. So many things happened last week, i don't even know where to start Haha. We had a bunch of lessons with members and non members. There was one man who is really interested in knowing more about how the Book of Mormon and Bible are connected so we are teaching him about that. It's really hard meeting all these people over zoom and WhatsApp but I love how I am still able to feel the spirit during our lessons.  We taught a lesson on zoom yesterday about Alma 32 and how our faith is like a seed. It's very important to make sure that we have...

June 18, 2020 - Houston We Have A Problem...

June 18, 2020 The MTC has been a thrilling experience. I don't know why everyone complains about the food because I am thoroughly enjoying it. The people here are alright too I guess. In all reality, I have actually enjoyed doing the Online MTC (Missionary Training Center). I have been doing it for a little over two weeks now and I have learned A LOT. I really love my district, teachers, and my companion. We have taught fake investigators, learned more about the Gospel and, of course, been learning how to speak spanish. No, I am not yet a Latina. I am still very much white but I'm slowly getting there. Now, to explain the title of my email... I got my reassignment this morning!!! I have been reassigned to the Texas Houston South Mission! I am reporting there July 13th! I am so excited to go there and to be able to serve the people there! That's all I have thus far, love you all! Hermana Eagar -Here's my district!
