This past week was hard. There were a solid 3 days that just sucked 😂. On one of the days, I just broke down and everything came out. It was not a pretty sight (my poor companion haha- nothing like puffy red eyes and smeared mascara). Both of us kinda moped around the rest of that day. After dinner, we went to the car to go grab Hermana Crandall's wallet. On our way, we ran into Gwen. Gwen is my favorite person ever. We don't get to see her as much because she works a lot, so we were super excited to see her. She started telling us about the things she was going through and how no one asks how she is. So we broke the quarantine rules and gave her a big hug. The three of us just stood there hugging in the middle of the parking lot for a couple of minutes. Naturally, we all started crying (I couldn't catch a break). Afterward, she thanked us for listening to her and for the hug and said that we had no idea how much we have impacted her life. 45 minutes later, we got Hermana Crandall's wallet.
God is so aware of each of us and what storms we're going through. And, because He loves us, He gives us rays of sunshine to help us see our way through the storm. That day, Gwen was my little ray of sunshine. She said that we had no idea how much we impacted and helped her. Psh. She has no idea how much she helped me. There were so many things that she said that I just needed to hear to help me get back up on my feet. One thing she said was that even when it seems like we're useless and not doing anything or not doing enough, we are always impacting other people's lives. Whether it's smiling at someone (aka squinting your eyes a little more than usual to signal to other people that you're smiling underneath your mask), saying hi, etc, we're doing more than we think. I love that.
I don't really have any funny stories besides my companion singing, "Tiptoe to the window, through the tulips..." in a high pitch voice accidentally right in front of our Bishop as we cleaned the bathrooms at the church and my companion also driving the wrong direction on a one way street (as seen in the panic on my face as I got it on camera).
Love you all!
