November 2, 2020 - Dead in Mexico

I think the best part of last week was getting tamales from Maria. Nothing can beat homemade tamales. We went over to her house on Thursday and we get there and she asks if we are able to eat inside members houses yet and we tell her that we cant. So then she grins and takes us outside to eat on the trunk of her car. Nice one Maria. So we got to eat homemade chicken tamales with homemade salsa and a Pepsi on the back of a car. Highlight of my week. Then as we were going back inside, this burst of wind came and blew all of the corn husks off our plates and Hermana Crandall screams, "MIS TAMALES". I died hahaha. Then we went inside and had a good conversation about how the Lord knows us and watches over us- like waiting for us to eat all of our tamales before the wind could blow them away.

Friday was pretty awesome too. We found 2 people (we haven't been able to find anyone in a while so this was huge). One person we found was a referral named Maria so we called her and then took her a Book of Mormon. It went super well. Then we went to a park and as soon as we got out this guy (Alfred) came up to us and asked if we were missionaries and we told him yes. Then he said, "tell me something". So we told him that God is our loving Heavenly Father and that He knows all of us and what we're all going through. He loved it and we exchanged numbers. It was awesome. Then we started talking to this other guy that was sitting on a park bench and he launched into a story of how he faked his death in Mexico so he's not allowed there. And then he started singing a song that an angel had whispered into his ear while he was sleeping. I think that was the one and only time I was grateful to be wearing a mask because I was trying not to laugh and oh man it was funny.

Scripture of the week:
Matthew 5:45- "for He maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust"
☆ everyone has their own ups and downs in life, but God is greater than both of them

Love y'alls
Hermana Eagar
