December 28, 2020 - STYlent Night

Image
I hope y'all had a merry Christmas!!! Our Christmas could've been better... Hermana Terry had a sty in her left eye and I was dying from a sinus infection. It was a grand time. So we were bed ridden for like 3 days. But hey... LUPE GOT BAPTIZED ON SUNDAYYYYYYY! We were scared that we weren't going to be able to go because I was sick so we may or may have not had a few break downs. But thanks to the power of prayer and faith, God let us go. I woke up and I only had a cough. God is good. That's all I can say. Oh! And I finished the Book of Mormon!! I know with all my heart that it's true. I am so thankful for my loving Heavenly Father. He loves us so so much. And I'm so thankful for my Savior who was born and made everything possible. He did it all for me.

December 21, 2020 - Here are some tidings of comfort and joy

We had a lot of good lessons last week with members in our ward! One of the families we visited with had three kids plus their cousins running around the yard and oh boy I wanted to join them haha. We talked a while with their parents and then shared a little message with them and they rounded up the kids so we were all sitting on their little front porch. We asked their girl Celene to say the opening prayer and it was the most sincere little prayer I've ever heard. She thanked our Heavenly Father that we could be alive, for the earth, and for a couple other things and I dont know why but it kinda made my eyes tear up. All of the kids answered our questions and I think they were teaching us more than them. Yesterday we had a ton of people come to church which was awesome. The mayor gave a talk and it was soooooo good. He shared his experience about the day before his baptism and how he felt like he was making the right choice. Lupe, who's getting baptized this Sunday :), text...

December 14, 2020 - Hang up call

Image
We had Christmas conference this week and it was so amazing- especially since President Guthrie called on me to share my talk in front of everyone. We got to watch the Christ Child and look at nativities and artwork and it was just super good. Then we had exchanges so I was with sister Erickson and we had a great time. And yesterday we sang in the Christmas program and it wasn't too bad actually. Now for the funny story: we had a referral so we called him and while we were on the call, I was making cookies. So I had a thought come across my head that I should probably turn the timer off on my phone so it doesnt interrupt the call. So I walk over to my phone to turn it off.... yeah I hung up on that guy midsentence. Once I realized what I had done me and Hermana Terry lost it. So we called him back and he was like yeah I'm sorry I dont know what happened with the call! And we were like yeah I dont know 🤷🏼‍♀️ Love yalls!

December 7, 202 - 6 MONTHS!

Image
Well it's official- I have been a missionary for 6 months!! I'm 1/3 of the way done. Super weird. Hermana Terry and I came out at the same time so it was both of our 6 month mark. To celebrate we got some freaking amazing tacos. We also had exchanges so I went with Sister Nufer to Victoria which is 1.5 hrs away from Bay City. We went to a soup kitchen and it was amazing i loved it so so so much. There was a guy there who has Asperger's and he LOVED my blonde hair and "fair skin complexion that is like a match box" (meaning I get burnt easily). It was hilarious, every time he walked by he had to tell me and Sister Nufer that he loved our blonde hair.  Me and hna Terry also got roped into singing for the christmas program next Sunday... pray for me.  Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of ...
