February 22, 2021 - Preachin to the deer

Wow last week was crazy! The church flooded from some broken pipes from the storm that went through Texas so we helped clean that up. TONS of people's pipes burst from that storm. It got really cold and then started to warm up and then everyone started having problems. We didnt have water for 2 days but we still had power which was a blessing. We got to take a shower at a members house-thank goodness (and it was HOT WATER which was absolutely wonderful because our hot water heater has been out for almost 2 weeks). And while I was waiting for Hna Ellsworth I got to sit with their weiner dog Bailey so I was clean and content.  With all of that going on, we were able to do a lot of service but not a lot of lessons.  We saw some deer on our way home yesterday and I took a ton of pictures. There were A LOT and I was very happy. OH AND Sister Guthrie had her baby on Friday and she is SO CUTE so now the whole mission has baby fever. It's a mess. I have been studying love and p...

So it is official, I am a cowgirl. Last Tuesday we vaccinated some cows with Brother Perry for service. At the end we got to throw down the calves so they could tag em. I'm ready for the ranch life. It was a grand time. Then to top that day off, we got invited to another members house to milk their cow. Also a grand time, well until the stupid thing stopped on their bucket and spilled all the milk. But you know what they say, don't cry over spilled milk. We had a ton of lessons with the members in our ward and so that was really fun to see all of them and introduce Sister Ellsworth. As for lessons with the people we're teaching, we didnt have too many which was hard but hey its alright. A scripture that I really like that I just read last night is Alma 37:6 Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise. I really love how...

Wow I am so emotionally and physically drained haha. We got news late Saturday night that Hermana Terry was leaving Sunday afternoon. We both thought she was staying so it was crazy. We got her packed up and then after church we made our rounds so she could tell everyone goodbye. It didnt really hit me until we had put everything in the car and we were about to leave the apartment and both of us just sobbed. I'm not a crier, I hate crying so yeah I miss her already 👍🏻. But (after almost getting in a car accident on the way) I got my new companion! Her name is Hermana Ellsworth and I love her. She is amazing and I'm so excited to work with her. So last week we went to Cindy's house and her grandson Isaac was there and we had agreed to eat a pepper because he had done it when we dared him to. It was HOT. Luckily we had grape Crush soda, chocolate cheesecake, and milk to help the heat go away. Okay honestly the soda and the cheesecake was the worst part.  Lynette is still ...

We had some amazing MIRACLES last week so that was amazing. We have been teaching our friend Lynette and last week we had a lesson with her. We walked in and she told us about everything that had happened that day with her family and work. We didnt know what to say. Then Sister Nance came (she was a little late from dropping something else off) and without any background about Lynette's day she started talking about her son who deals with mental illness and about the struggles her and her family have gone through with that. We were all crying. I dont think I have ever felt the spirit that strong in my life. Sadly, Sisyer Nance had to leave early too but everything she said was so perfect. The rest of our lesson went amazing we were able to answer a lot of her questions. She said she wanted to cancel but she felt that she should still meet with us :) God is so good. The timing with all of that was incredible too. There was also a funeral on Saturday so we went and helped serve foo...
